Pentecost - 2008Return to Worship and the Arts home pageStreamers created last year from red, yellow, and orange material and attached by nylon line to a thin dowel - simulating flames - were again utilized for sanctuary color. Part were placed in the holes drilled into the top of our sanctuary wainscoting for the Easter season "Alleluia banners." The rest were distributed to selected persons among the congregation, who waved them during the Pentecost liturgy. More Pentecostal flames were processed on standards and placed on the left and right side of the chancel (right panel, below. The middle panel shows details of our Pentecost parament. Finally, the left shot presents a view of flames attached to gauze and draped behind the chancel cross.
