Pentecost marks the close of the Easter season by celebrating the descent of the Holy Spirit
upon the Apostles. We focused on the Pentecostal image of flames in decorating for this Sunday.
Painted flames were attached to barely visible gauze, then suspended from the cross. This creates
a strong visual impact. Unfortunately, the anticipated movement of the gauze due to air currents
never really happened. Perhaps another year we can figure a way to introduce this "holy wind."
