Return to Worship and the Arts home pageDuring 2008 we follow previous Lenten seasonal approaches - beginning with a few simple wreaths draped with gray for Ash Wednesday. As we did last year, we prepared an "Alleluia banner" which was placed in a box on the first Sunday of Lent, reminding us that the we would not be using this word for the duration of Lent. For the Sundays of Lent, we add seasonal purple color to the wreaths. All banners are removed from the sanctuary and the usual palms in the chancel are replaced with urns filled with bare branches. A new addition for 2008 is a light purple cloth covering the Table.
