Lent is a somber season, inviting us to introspection and preparation for the saving grace of
Jesus Christ. We began with a few stark wreaths draped with gray. Some found this starkness unsettling.
As the period progressed, we added the seasonal purple color to the wreaths. All banners were removed
from the sanctuary. Also the usual palms in the chancel were removed and replaced with urns filled with bare branches.
