Eleven youth and three adult sponsors left West Plano after commissioning at the 8:30 service on July 29 and traveled to San Antonio to work for a week with DOOR, an ecumenical organization (and approved PCUSA mission experience) that invites youth to discover God in the city. Though many of us have visited San Antonio before and walked its beautiful River Walk, we are unaware of the needy citizens who are most often hidden from public view. This trip introduced us to the "other" side of American cities, helping us to see more clearly in our own city of Plano the needy who are often overlooked and forgotten.
