Community Living

West Plano Presbyterian Church believes that baptism initiates us into a communal expression of life that is marked by love, openness, forgiveness and reconciliation, mutual support and encouragement, and generously going out of our way for one another.

Following Jesus means belonging in community. Though we are often called to reach beyond the limits of our comfort zones, living in community is full of unexpected blessing. Though we are people with wide differences, personal views, tastes, backgrounds, and styles, each of us quirky in our own way, what we have in common through Christ binds us together in joy and in sorrow, in sickness and in health.

The relationships we form in community get lived out in many ways, both informal and formal. Formally, our church offers gatherings around meals, games, movies, and activities of many kinds. Informally, we try to be available to one another for care as the need arises.

Community is central to our faith, not least because God’s own self - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - is a community of persons in one God.
