Parking Lot (complete)
- Phase 1 (Concrete & Lighting): Sidewalk construction for ADA access, digging holes for 8 light pole bases (24” X 9’),
trenching for conduit and setting light poles started Monday, 7/31/06, and was completed by Sunday, 8/06/06; the lights
are now connected and functioning in the parking lot. Lighting is set on a time clock to start approximately at 8 pm and go
off around 11 pm. The concrete sidewalk at the entrance to the church office and
education wing will be reconstructed with a gradual ramp from the concrete turn around to the building entrance starting on
Tuesday, September 5 (slipped due to hot weather). Concrete and other trash will be removed from property. A wall light has been mounted at the center of the
building entrance; it is controlled by a photoelectric cell to provide entrance light. Two additional lights will be installed
when the light pattern is determined.
- Phase 2 (Paving): Paving was done Thursday, 8/10/06; striping was done the following day.
The parking lot was barricaded to prevent access during work weeks. In six months, after the surfacing has cured, the lot
will be sealed. In the meantime, Andrews Paving suggests
that the congregation not turn the wheels of their cars unless they are moving to avoid gouging the asphalt. Also
panic starts or stops will tend to leave marks in asphalt.

Day 1 (Monday, July 31): Confirmed engineering drawings, constructed silt fence around perimeter of parking lot, cut trench for conduit
and excavated north & west sides of existing parking lot for 25 new parking spaces.

Day 2 (Tuesday, August 1): Finished cutting trenches for electrical conduit and digging holes for light pole
pedestals (24” X 6’). Set forms for sidewalk ADA access. Laid 1” PVC line alongside trenches for future use
as water supply to west end of property. PVC will be placed in trench after conduit laid.

New sidewalk
Day 3 (Wednesday, August 2): Poured concrete for sidewalk ADA access and sidewalk at drive in entrance. The construction
workers are master craftsmen and their expertise with concrete shaping and finishing is quite impressive. Built rebar
reinforcement frames for concrete pedestals for lights. Cleaned up portion of trenches and laid electrical conduit.

The new concrete bases for parking lot lighting are ready
Day 4 (Thursday, August 3): Holes for light pole pedestals and conduit depth approved by Plano Building Inspector. Poured
concrete for pedestals and back filled conduit trenches. 1” PVC line and 7-strand sprinkler control wire in place along
north and west end of parking lot for future reference. Transplanted three trees from north side of parking lot further
north to make room for new parking spaces.

Working on new north parking spots
Day 5 (Friday, Audust 4): Concrete crew made final cleanup. Tamped trenches, watered transplanted trees, removed forms from light
pole pedestals and smoothed up pedestals. Pulled and laid down original light poles. Leveled and shapped new parking spaces.
Getting ready for paving crew on Monday.

Building Interior
- Sanctuary: An acoustics report and recommendations will be prepared.
- Library: Acoustics experts indicate adding rock wool or other insulating material in dividing wall
space between the library and the sanctuary would not be cost effective or efficient (saving: $1,846.00).
- Fellowship Hall: During work day on 8/12/06, the men of the church worked on lowering fans
and air conditioning return ducts 7” to accommodate grills for lowered ceiling in center portion of fellowship hall.
A grid was installed in the recessed area of the fellowship hall on Wednesday, August 23. Fluorescent lights were
installed on Thursday; they provide adequate lighting. No insulation will be added on top (saving: $353). Acoustic
tile was installed the week of August 28.
