The 2nd annual
Martha Rea Baker

Celebration of Arts

September 8, 2007

Detail from "Knight's Journey" by Martha Rea Baker (exhibited)

From 6 to 8 pm, West Plano Presbyterian Church showcased its talents! Members registered to exhibit at the celebration. All art forms from all ages were gathered. Also featured were works from WPPC's permanent art collection, including watercolors by Martha Rea Baker and Pat Wittliff, and photographs by Charles Taylor and Mike Williams in the Parlor; collage and watercolor by Martha Baker in the Narthex; and wooden processional cross and font stand by Bill and Malcom McLeod, and origami birds by the Worship Arts Committee in the sanctuary.
Members and guests were entertained by the string quartet of John Batchelder, Joshua Kim, Dustin Lao, and Jeremy Ying; flute and guitar music by Ching-An and Yili Yeh; and jazz music by Don Denzin (clarinet and sax) and pianist Joyce Leraas. Special thanks to Becki Williams, Mike Miler, and the Reachout Committee for organizing this extravaganza, and to Jeannie Stone for preparing hors d'oeuvres. Assisting were Charles Chapoton, Frank Lugo, and Mike Miler (wine stewards); and Nicholey Schwab, Abram Suldana, and Flor Suldana who helped serve the wonderful cuisine of chef Jeannie! And, of course, we want to thank our honored guests, Martha and Bill Baker, who traveled from their new home in New Mexico to join us for this wonderful and special event!
