What a great group of young people we have who are preparing to graduate. Join us in recognizing them on Sunday, May 18 at 10 am in Fellowship Hall.

Our graduates include Scott Batchelder, Amanda Robinson, Ryan Darley, John Batchelder and Steven Nelms. We will celebrate their successes and join in offering our continued support and best wishes for the future.

In the June newsletter we will profile each new graduate including their plans for the future. We have been blessed to be part of their lives and look forward to bright and promising futures for all.

us. Congregations are trying new ways to minister with the children at risk in their communities. General Assembly programs advocate for children and provide leadership development opportunities for our youth and young adults. Since 1998, Presbyterians of all ages raised over $4.8 million for these ministries that benefit younger members of God’s family.

40% of the receipts are retained locally by congregations, and 60 % are forwarded to General Assembly ministries for children at risk, youth, and young adults.  A detailed report of how 2007 Pentecost Offering funds were used by the GA is posted on the Offering’s Web site  (http://www.pcusa.org/pentecost/financials.htm).

The Pentecost Offering will be received on the day of Pentecost (May 11, 2008).

Communications, Sharon Finley

Treasurer, Barb Peterson

Thank you to chef Gary Peterson and his able sous chef Rick Smith for a gourmet breakfast on Saturday April 5th.  We had trays of heavenly cinnamon/raisin French toast,

eggs, and sausage accompanied by real maple syrup, fruit compote, juice and coffee. Following breakfast we voted on the proposed slate of officers.  We then brainstormed several good topics for our meetings in 2008/2009 including

Heritage Farm as a possible Fall or Christmas tour; a play by one of the HS drama groups, and tour of Dallas Arboretum.  Due to the regular size of our group we may hold meetings at
