Text Box: will be a positive step forward for us all. It is my fervent hope and prayer that we will have many attending from WPPC. I believe that the way we treat strangers among us is one of the most defining characteristics of our faith. Therefore, I want to impress upon you all how important it is that we attend this event with a strong turn out.

Celebrating the Feast of Pentecost, (Continued from page 1)

something to share on this Pentecost Sunday.

At the heart of this year’s Pentecost will be the reaffirmation of the baptismal covenant and church membership at WPPC for our group of Affirmers who have journeyed in a process of faith formation and discernment. This festival is a wonderful invitation for us all to celebrate the amazing grace of God which makes us all one people in Christ. Let us all make ourselves ready for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit that we might be renewed in faith and mission.

OH YES, PLEASE REMEMBER TO WEAR RED!

The Session has graciously permitted Scott and John Batchelder to hold their Senior Recital in the WPPC sanctuary on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 2 pm. A reception, hosted by parents David and Nancy, will be held in the Fellowship Hall afterward.

This special opportunity has been sent to us from our friends at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

Jim Douglass has written four books on the theology of nonviolence: The Nonviolent Cross (Macmillan: 1968), Resistance and Contemplation (Doubleday: 1972), Lightning East to West (Crossroads: 1983), and The Nonviolent Coming of God (Orbis: 1991).  All four books have been republished by Wipf and Stock Publishers, Eugene, Oregon.  His work in progress, JFK and the Unspeakable, is scheduled for publication in April 2008 by Orbis Books. The publication of this book is what brings him to Dallas now to speak on this topic.

It is an honor for the entire Batchelder clan to have this event held at the church which has been so very supportive of each step in their musical journey.
