Text Box: This year our congregation will have the opportunity to participate in VBS in a totally new and different way. We will be hosting VBS the week of July 21. The children will gather at the church at 3 pm for our Opening, then at about 3:45ish we will all trek eastward to Spring Hill Retreat Center. Children from Custer Parkway Preschool and their parents will be invited. Parents, grandparents, and all adults are welcome to join us at 6 pm daily for supper, which Text Box: will be provided. Following supper, there will be activity choices for folks of all ages and we will close with a Vesper Time each evening.
If you would like to be part of this great new Vesper Bible Sharing, let either Beth George or Betty know! We know we will need teachers, cooks, and clean-up volunteers. Watch for upcoming details via the Weekly Announcements, the June Newsletter, and all church emails.
Text Box: observed that our usual coffee hour, taking place between services, does not do well as a time for meeting first time visitors who tend to arrive shortly before worship begins. For these six weeks, we hope a coffee/fellowship time following worship will be an attractive time for us to share conversation with those visiting our church. On a few of these summer Sundays something will special will be planned during the time following worship.
Stay tuned for more details as we get into the summer.
Text Box: Based on member comments and a positive experience when we have had occasional single services, the Session is conducting an experiment this summer with 6 weeks of single service worship. Beginning July 6 and continuing through August 10, we will have ONE SERVICE ONLY at 9:30 am.
This time was chosen for two reasons. First, it is a compromise time between our usual times the rest of the year; and second, it will allow for a time of fellowship afterward. The Session has Text Box: Looking Ahead Into Summer

One Great Hour of Sharing Update

See Betty to be a part of this exciting ministry.

Since 1949, Presbyterians have joined with millions of other Christians through One Great Hour of Sharing to share God’s love with people experiencing need.

THANK YOU for your generous gifts towards the One Great Hour of Sharing offering that was collected on Easter Sunday and the Sunday following.

Our congregation’s gifts totaling $815 support Presbyterian ministries of disaster response, refugee assistance and resettlement, and community development that help people find safe refuge, start new lives, and work together to strengthen their families and communities.

Your money supports the Presbyterian Hunger Program which receives 36 percent of undesignated One Great Hour of Sharing gifts, while the Self-Development of People and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance each receive 32 percent.

Recognizing that hope we have in Christ is lived out in our hope for one another, we respond with gifts that help our sisters and brothers around the world find the hope for a brighter future
