This month I am writing to ask each of you to hold the date of Thursday, MAY 29 (7:30 pm).
For many months now I have been working with Father Henry Petter and other Plano clergy who have been concerned that our community not turn ugly towards undocumented immigrants in the manner of other towns in North Texas. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton is Text Box: the site for an Immigration Forum where the esteemed Ernesto Cortes has accepted the invitation to be our keynote speaker. Much more is being planned and will be shared in separate communications.

Text Box: Celebrating the Feast of Pentecost

Text Box: On May 11 we will join with the whole Church of Jesus Christ in celebrating one of the great festivals of our faith.  Pentecost celebrates the gift of the Holy Spirit which energizes the life of the church for worship and ministry.  
The “meaning” of Pentecost returns us to the birth of the Church, and the reception of the Spirit for courage of faith, equipping with gifts, and sending in mission. The “mood” of Pentecost is one of joy, playfulness, surprise, and thanksgiving. The “witness” of Text Box: Pentecost is to the inclusive nature of the church, the giftedness of each member, the confidence of the church

in proclaiming and sharing the Good News of God through Jesus Christ, and the hospitality of the church in welcoming all those who come seeking after God.

With Pentecost falling on the second Sunday of May, we will also observe the ministry of our FOOD BASKET where worshipers bring gifts of sustenance for the needy of our community.
